  • When you hire us: your property address, contract details, payment information and any photos or color selections for the project.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web server automatically records technical data with each request, such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and date and time. We use these logs only for security, spam prevention and troubleshooting. The Site does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics by default. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Sources

We collect personal information directly from you, automatically from your device when you use the Site, and occasionally from people who refer you to us.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to inquiries, provide estimates, and schedule and perform services
  • To prepare proposals, contracts and invoices and keep required business records
  • To communicate with you about your project, including by phone, text or email
  • To maintain the security of the Site and prevent fraud and spam
  • To improve our services and the Site
  • To comply with legal obligations, including licensing and tax requirements, and to enforce our rights

We do not use your information for purposes that are materially different from those above without notifying you.

4. How we disclose information

We disclose personal information only for business purposes and only as needed:

  • Service providers that help us operate, such as our website host and email provider, under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing services to us.
  • Specialists working on your project (for example, a licensed electrician or testing lab), limited to what they need to do their part.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of others.
  • Business transfers: if the business is sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.

5. We do not sell or share your personal information

In the past 12 months we have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not do so. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

6. How long we keep information

  • Estimate requests that don’t become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Customer and contract records: for as long as required for warranty, tax and contractor-licensing purposes, generally up to 7 years after the project ends.
  • Server logs: generally 90 days or less, unless needed to investigate a security issue.

7. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don’t sell or share, but you may still submit a request.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We don’t collect sensitive personal information.
  • Non-discrimination: we won’t deny service, charge different prices or provide a different quality of service because you exercised these rights.

How to submit a request

Email veetopaintingco@gmail.com with the subject “California privacy request,” or call (442) 278-6266. To protect your information, we verify your identity by matching details you provide (such as your name, phone number and email) with our records. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time (up to 45 more days), we’ll tell you why.

Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We’ll ask for written permission signed by you and may ask you to verify your identity directly.

Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83): California residents may ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. We do not make such disclosures. Send requests to the email address above.

Some of these laws apply only to businesses that meet certain thresholds. We extend these rights to all of our customers regardless.

8. Your privacy choices

  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): our Site recognizes the GPC signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and keep marketing cookies off.
  • Do Not Track: as required by CalOPPA, we disclose that the Site does not track visitors across third-party websites. Because we honor GPC, we treat a GPC signal as described above; we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals, since we don’t perform cross-site tracking.
  • Cookie settings: you can change your choices at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
  • Marketing: we don’t send marketing newsletters. If you ever receive a promotional message from us, you can opt out by replying STOP or emailing us.

9. Phone calls and text messages

If you give us your phone number and agree on our form, we may call or text you about your estimate and project. These are informational messages, not marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.

10. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in California). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

11. Security

We protect information with reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS connections, a form that checks for spam and abuse, strict security headers, and limited access to customer records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Please don’t send payment card numbers or Social Security numbers through the form or by email.

The Site links to third-party sites such as Google, Yelp, Houzz, Facebook and the Contractors State License Board. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version on this page and change the “last updated” date above. If changes are significant, we’ll add a notice on the home page. We review this policy at least once every 12 months.
